History of Beizhan Village

Beizhan Village boasts a rich and deep-rooted history, with legends tracing its origins back to the Shang Dynasty (circa 1600–1046 BC). It is said that during this time, a postal station was established in the area, and over time, people settled nearby, eventually forming the village. Historical texts like Fengshen Yanyi mention events that occurred in Beizhan, further highlighting its significance.

In the Qing Dynasty, Beizhan produced many notable figures, including officials such as the esteemed Xu family member who served as an official in the Ministry of Justice. Throughout the late Qing period and into the Republican era, Beizhan continued to flourish, contributing military officers and intellectuals to China’s modernization efforts.

During the 20th century, the village played a significant role in China's revolutionary history. Many young villagers joined the resistance against Japanese invaders during World War II, fighting in various campaigns that helped shape China’s future. In the later decades, especially after the establishment of the People's Republic of China, Beizhan experienced profound changes, particularly in agriculture and rural infrastructure.

The most dramatic transformation occurred after 2018 when the village underwent modernization, shifting from traditional rural housing to modern residential communities. This marked a pivotal moment in the village’s evolution, symbolizing its transition from agricultural life to a more urbanized, contemporary lifestyle.
